January, 2007 Utah - The Happily Ever After Place I find it quite confusing when it comes to UT's double standards. I moved here from CA 15 years ago, and I have found that it is the only state that turns a profit from its alcoholics, caffine addicts, and smokers. Heck, the tar I have accumulated in my lungs help pave a highway that I rarely travel, and I have yet to receive a thank you! Racing . . .1...2...3...TURN LEFT!!! On pavement its o-kay, but you haven't experienced racing until you have been on a 1/2 mile dirt track and only spend 3 seconds on a straight away. All the while watching out for your opponents open wheel, which, if contacted, can send you into orbit. USAC Racing is the ultimate!!! Anne Rice . . .I wish that Anne Rice would pick back up her Mayfair Witch Series. This series, I feel, above all was her best. Yes, I do realize that she is best known for her vampires, but the Mayfair's were so colorful and vibrant. It is the reason that I long to visit New Orleans. I remember when...Life was so simple. I know that I am not that old, o-kay, I have yet to reach my 40's, but it seems so long ago that I did not have as many worries as I do now. I have a 12 year old child, and this child of mine has to worry about so many different issues and conflicts than I did at his age. He even has to worry about how he feels about different social issues, for if he should not have the popular view or idea, then it is he that is the outsider. It is he that must have a problem. When did it become so wrong to be different? Why do I . . . ?Care. Why do I care what others think? Is it peer pressure? Is it the media? I am trying to find a way to be comfortable within my own skin. The only way I have ever been able to find that inner peace is by not caring what others think of me. The sad part is that I live in a state that judges you by what you believe in, not what your moral fiber is, not by what actions you take, just by what church you happen to attend. What is even worse, is that when I moved here from LA 16 years ago, I found it so lovely that I hung my hat and have never left. This user currently is not registered with Windows Live QnA account.
